# Remove a user

> Remove someone from your LocalOps organization

Owners and Admins can remove people from the organization:

1. In the sidebar, under **Organization**, go to **Settings** → **Members**.
2. Find the person and click **⋯** → **Actions** on their row.
3. Choose **Remove member**.
4. Confirm with **Continue**.

They lose access immediately - to the organization, every project and every protected environment.

  Only an Owner can remove another Owner, and an Owner can't remove themselves. The organization always keeps at least
  one Owner.

To take someone out of a single project without removing them from the organization,
[remove them from the project](/team/project-members#remove-someone-from-the-project) instead.
